Chrome extension

Install and enable the pinakea Chrome and Chromium browser extension.

The Chrome extension ships inside pinakea. You install or update it from the app rather than downloading a separate ZIP from the website.

Install or Update

  1. Open pinakea.
  2. Go to Settings -> Sources.
  3. In Add Sources, click Chrome Connector.
  4. Review the detected supported browsers and click Install Connector.
  5. The app copies chrome://extensions to the clipboard and keeps a floating setup panel open.
  6. Paste chrome://extensions in your browser, enable Developer Mode, then drag the folder chip from the panel onto the extensions page.
  7. If dragging is not accepted, click Reveal Folder and choose that folder with Load Unpacked.

The connector is a native-messaging manifest for all detected supported Chrome-family browsers. It grants pinakea no browser access by itself; the extension can connect only in browsers where you manually load it.

pinakea stages the extension in an app-owned support folder so the browser can keep using the same Load Unpacked path across app updates. After pinakea updates, it refreshes that folder automatically after startup; reload the extension or restart the browser to pick up the new version.

If you install a new Chromium browser later, click Chrome Connector again so pinakea can add that browser’s native messaging connector. If clips do not arrive, return to Settings -> Sources and click Chrome Connector to refresh connector setup.
